  • Medicated shampoo containing: Tar blend 1% w/w
  • Treatment of scalp disorders such as psoriasis, seborrhoea, pruritus, eczema and dandruff
  • Also of value in the removal of ointments and pastes used in the treatment of psoriasis
  • Adults and children: massage into wetted hair and scalp then rinse. Use once or twice weekly

Who should use Polytar?

Use Polytar for the treatment of psoriasis, eczema and dandruff on the scalp. It can also be used for the washing of the scalp following the use of other treatments.

Directions

Wet the hair thoroughly and apply sufficient Polytar Liquid to produce an abundant lather. The scalp and adjacent areas should be vigorously massaged with the fingertips. Rince the hair thoroughly, and repeat the procedure if necessary.

Polytar Liquid should be used once or twice weekly.

Polytar Technical Information

The active ingredient of Polytar Liquid is a tar blend comprising Pine tar, Cade Oil, Coal Tar Solution, and Arachis Oil which is an extract of Coal Tar. Tar works by inhibiting the growth of keratin, which in excess is a cause of psoriasis, dandruff and eczema.

Other ingredients include Oleyl alcohol, Coconut diethanolamide, Hexylene glycol, Polysorbate 80, Triethanolamide Lauryl Sulphate, Sodium chloride, Citric acid, Octylphenoxypolyethoxy ethanol, Imidurea, Fragrance 5412, and Purified Water.
