Medi Derma Pro Skin Protectant Ointment (115g) provides long-lasting protection from Moisture-Associated Skin Damage on severely damaged skin. It helps to prevent irritation and skin breakdown from incontinence and other bodily fluids, such as sweat, wound exudate and friction.

Benefits:

  • Alcohol, fragrance-, paraben-, and phthalate-free. Not made with natural rubber latex.
  • Suitable for use on paediatric patients.
  • Does not block absorption of incontinence pads.
  • 'Tacky' consistency ensures the ointment adheres well to moist skin and wounds.
  • Minimises the risk of shear and friction-related trauma.
  • Can be applied over fungal creams required to treat skin infections to ensure they remain in contact with the skin and protection is still provided.
Directions for use:
  2. Recommended for use in combination with our non-sting Medi Derma-Pro Foam & Spray Incontinence Cleanser.
  3. Ensure that the skin is clean and dry before application.
  4. Apply a thin, uniform coating over the whole area to be protected. A more liberal application may be required for severely moist or damaged skin.
  5. Reapplication is recommended after each episode of incontinence or when there is no visible sheen on the skin, following cleansing with Medi Derma-Pro Foam and Spray Incontinence Cleanser.
  6. Avoid using adhesive dressings or ostomy pouches when using Medi Derma-Pro Skin Protectant Ointment.
  7. If you have a fungal skin infection that needs treating with an additional cream, apply the cream first, leave for at least 5 minutes to allow it to be absorbed and then apply Medi Derma-Pro Skin Protectant Ointment.
  8. Medi Derma-Pro Skin Protectant Ointment can be removed using Medi Derma-Pro Foam & Spray Incontinence Cleanser or similar cleansing products as directed.
Contraindications:
  1. Do not use on open wounds or deep puncture wounds.
  2. Do not use where there are any known allergies or sensitivity to the ingredients.
Precautions:
  1. Consult your clinician should any signs of skin reaction occur following product application.
  2. Only use as directed.
  3. For external use only.
  4. See crimp of tube for Expiry/Lot information.
  5. Do not use expiry date or if the product is damaged. Once opened, the product can be used through the expiry date.
  6. Keep out of reach of children.
  7. Do not use on uncovered areas of skin during phototherapy treatment.
  8. If during the use of this device, or as a result of its use, a serious incident has occurred, please report it to the manufacturer and to your national authority.
