Lamisil Once FAQs

Why do you only have to apply Lamisil Once once?

Once applied, Lamisil Once coats the feet with a film that sticks to the toes. This film will not wash off at all, even with soap and water. The film contains the active ingredient, known as Terbinafine, which gradually gets absorbed into the foot over the course of 1 or 2 weeks. The film eventually wears off after this time, and hopefully by then the fungal infection will have cleared up.

How long does Lamisil once take to work?

The infection itself should clear up in 1-2 weeks. However, skin damaged by the infection will take longer to heal, and can take up to a month. If you are in any doubt, contact a medical professional.

What precautions must I take when using Lamisil once?

Lamisil once is only to be used by adults over 18. Do not use while breast-feeding. Keep out of the reach of children, and avoid contact with the eyes. If you suffer any reaction to Lamisil once, check that you are not allergic to any ingredients, and contact your doctor. Once applied, leave Lamisil Once to dry for a couple of minutes before wearing shoes or socks.

Is my infection likely to re-occur?

Lamisil once is designed to protect the feet for re-infection for up to 3 months following application. However, you will need to take care of your feet if you are to avoid getting athlete's foot again. This includes airing the feet properly, and cleaning them regularly. You may also like to deal with any excessive sweating or moisture in the foot area, particularly between the toes.

Should I use Lamisil Once, or one of the other Lamisil products?

Lamisil Once is specially designed for athlete's foot that affects the area between the toes, and is the Lamisil product that Express Chemist recommend for this condition because it is easy to use, requiring only one single application. However, if you do not mind re-applying Lamisil AT every day, then you can use that, as it has the same active ingredient and is just as effective.

What if Lamisil Once does not work?

If Lamisil Once does not work, you should contact your doctor as you may have something other than athlete's foot, or a deeper underlying condition.

How do I know how much to apply?

You should always apply the entire tube. Do not try to keep any leftover for next time, as it is not designed for storage once the tube is opened. Note that you should treat both feet, even if you can only see symptoms in one foot, otherwise you run the risk of cross-infection. In 80% of cases, athlete's foot affects both feet at the same time, even if you do not notice the symptoms. You should also treat the whole foot and not just the area around the toes, because again the infection can be present on all parts of the foot.
