Vitamin D

Vitamin D is a group of fat soluble vitamins which are important for many functions in the body. It is sometimes added to food staples such as milk, flour and butter. It is not often found naturally in foods, the average person gets their vitamin D from sun exposure.
Between March and October the body can create vitamin D from direct sunlight on the body. Through autumn and winter it is recommended that we need to rely on vitamin D from food sources and supplements.

Below is a comprehensive range of Vitamin D tablets, capsules, chewable tablets, sprays and drops for infants.
Also available supplements suitable for those who follow vegan and kosher diets.

The Department of Health recommended *RDA:
  • Breast fed babies from birth to 1 year: 8.5*μg (micrograms) /daily.
  • Formula fed babies: No supplement as infant formula milk is fortified with vitamin D.
  • Children aged 1-4 years 10μg /daily.
  • Children over 5 years to adults: 10μg/daily autumn and winter.
