Full Marks Detector Comb

Product code: FUL63P

The best way to be certain you or your child has head lice is by detection combing. What you are looking for is a live, moving louse. If you find something, but are not sure what it is, wipe it on to some tissue paper, pop the tissue in a plastic bag and take it to your local pharmacy or GP surgery for advice.

  • 1 plastic fine toothed comb.
  • Approximately 8.5cm by 5.5cm.
  • Special grey colour to make spotting lice and white eggs easy.
  • Designed specifically for detecting head lice.

The Full Marks Detector Comb with fine plastic teeth is specially designed for detecting head lice. Once head lice have been identified, the Full Marks Solution can be used to kill the lice and the Full Marks Removal Comb can be used for the removal of lice and their eggs that are firmly attached to the hair as part of a wet combing regime.

    Combing Instructions:

  • Remove any tangles by combing the hair with an ordinary comb. The hair can be either wet or dry.
  • If the hair is long, separate it into sections to make the next steps easier.
  • Take the Detector Comb, and starting with its teeth touching the scalp, slowly draw it out to the tips of the hair.
  • After each stroke, check the teeth of the comb under a good light for lice.
  • Continue to comb each section thoroughly until the whole head is done. This can take around an hour for long hair.
  • If there are any lice present, you should find them caught on the teeth of the comb.

Head lice treatments will not prevent an individual from catching head lice again. Therefore, if a friend or family member has lice without knowing, it is likely they will be passed around again and again. That is why contact tracing is very important.
