Fluconazole Single Capsule 150mg Oral treatment for vaginal thrush.
  • Fluconazole is an antifungal drug used to treat thrush in both women and men.
  • Take this fluconazole capsule to treat and relieve the soreness, redness, itching and discharge associated with thrush.
  • Please note packaging and manufacturer may change.
Fluconazole is used to treat vaginal thrush which is caused by an over balance in the naturally occurring yeast candida albicans. Thrush can be transferred to men and therefore men can take fluconazole for penile thrush. Even if your partner does not have symptoms of thrush they may still be carrying the infection; this increases the risk of being re-infected if you have sex without a condom.

What are the symptoms of thrush?
Vaginal Thrush symptoms usually consist of at least one of the following:
  • Itching around the outside of the vagina.
  • Soreness and redness made worse when rubbed or scratched.
  • Discharge from the vagina that is white but does not smell.
Penile Thrush symptoms are commonly:
  • Soreness and redness of the penis.
  • Tightness of the foreskin.
  • Abnormal discharge.
However, not every man who has thrush will show any symptoms.

How to take your Fluconazole capsule
Swallow the Fluconazole capsule with a glass of water with or without food.
One Fluconazole capsule is all you need.
The condition should begin to clear up within two days.
For additional external relief whilst the Fluconazole capsule is working, try a cooling cream such as Canesten or an anti-itch cream such as Vagisil.
If after 7 days the condition has not cleared up, you can take a second Fluconazole capsule. If the condition recurs within 6 months, you should visit your GP.
