Gastrocote Tablets provide an effective solution to the problematic conditions heartburn and indigestion. The dual action formula will neutralise the stomach acid and protect the lining from excess levels whilst relieving symptoms too.

Gastrocote has a dual action formula that contains a combination of antacids and an alginate to soothe and relieve both heartburn and indigestion. Both have different yet effective effects on the GI tract, the gastrointestinal tract. The alginate forms a raft that reduces the reflux of stomach acid into the oesophagus. The raft also coats the lining of the oesophagus, protecting it from the stomach acid. Antacids neutralise the stomach acids.
Gastrocote tablets ease the discomfort of indigestion and heartburn including:
- Heartburn in pregnancy - Common in pregnant women.
- Reflux oesophagitis - Inflammation of the oesophagus lining due to irritation from stomach acid.
- Gastric reflux or regurgitation - A bitter or sour taste in the mouth.
- Acid indigestion - Any pain of discomfort in the stomach area, accompanied by bloating, belching or nausea due to excess stomach acid.
Directions for use: One to two tablets to be chewed four times a day. Tablets must be chewed before swallowing. Chew tablets after meals and at bedtime.
Please note: While pains in the chest are usually due to heartburn and indigestion, they could also be a symptom of something more serious, such as heart problems. If in doubt, please seek medical advice and contact your local pharmacist/GP.
Cautions and Warnings:
Always read the label/leaflet and use only use as directed.

Keep out of sight and reach of children.
Do not use if allergic to any of the ingredients.
Do not use after the expiry date. The date on the pot refers to the last day of that month.
Do not give to children under 6.
Seek medical advice if you or your child has kidney problems or are on a controlled salt of phosphate diet or are diabetic.
Chew tablets before swallowing.
Take after main meals and at bedtime.
Medicine should not be disposed of via waste-water or household waster. Ask your pharmacy how to dispose of such items.
Do not store above 25°C.
