Glutamine is a non-essential amino acid and naturally occurs in the human body. It circulates round the body in the blood and helps to build and repair muscle. Hence why it is used by those recovering from sports injuries, burns and superficial wounds, as well as being favoured by weight lifters, body builders and heavy trainers. Similarly, Glutamine is excellent for maintaining gut health. It is known as the "gut restorer" as it re-fuels the cells in the lining of the small intestine.

Glutamine is particularly important for the health of the gut with the cells of the gut lining obtaining much of their growth material through utilising glutamine as a fuel. This is why, out of the 20 amino acids, glutamine, is often referred to as the 'gut restorer' amongst practitioners and is frequently recommended when the integrity of the gut wall is compromised, as is often the case in conditions cause by microflora imbalances and some chronic conditions associated with poor gut function.
It is also often used for sports recovery since large quantities of glutamine are stored in our muscles where it plays an important role in repairing and building new muscles. Heavy training can deplete our glutamine stores so a supplement may help speed recovery.
Glutamine is naturally found in chicken, fish, beef, eggs, dairy products, wheat, certain vegetables and parsley.
As with all Lamberts amino acids, Lamberts L-Glutamine is presented in its free-form for maximum absorption. Each capsule provides a full 500mg of L-Glutamine. Lamberts L-Glutamine is also available in a powdered form.
Dosage: 1 to 6 capsules daily. It is preferable to take Amino Acids with fruit juice or water, rather than milk. An amino acid is best taken ½ hour before any meal or at bedtime.
Disintegration Time: Less than 30 minutes.
Suitable for vegetarians.
