For a mid-market high street perfume, typically the domain of the generic, Rosewood has done enough to stand out and be noticed. It could be that this stems from the fact that compared to other Banana Republic fragrances Rosewood delivers a much broader silage, the general feeling being that if you're going to spend out on a perfume you want the rest of the street to smell it.

Despite its name, there's no apparent rose, or indeed floral notes to this perfume. Listed as opening with bergamot with a heart of green tea, many reviewers deny this in the testing and describe Rosewood rather as a sweet vanilla musk, amber cited as providing the scent with a base of some elegance.
