Elizabeth Arden was the business name of Florence Nightingale Graham, who was born in Cornwall, England in 1884. The Elizabeth Arden name was created from the first name of a friend and the title of Tennyson's poem 'Enoch Arden.' She was the first person to introduce eye makeup and the concept of a salon makeover to North America.
