Givenchy Hubert James Taffin de Givenchy was born in Beavais, France in 1927. At the age of 17 he left his hometown for Paris to become a couturier?s apprentice. He soon became well known for the relaxed chic of his clean, elegant tailoring. Givenchy launched his first perfume, L?Interdit, in 1957. The fragrance was promoted by Audrey Hepburn and was an enormous success; helping to transform the Givenchy name into the contemporary icon it is today.
