This Care Pholcodine Oral Solution is a sugar free mixture that provides 5mg/5ml pholcodine monohydrate to effectively relieve dry or irritating coughs.

• 200ml Oral solution.
• Helps relieve dry or irritating coughs.
• Contains 5mg/5ml Pholcodine Monohydrate.
• Sugar free.

Directions for Use:
Please carefully read label before use.
Suitable for Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years.
Take 1 or 2 x 5ml spoonfuls 3-4 times a day.
Do not take more than 4 doses in 24 hours.
Do not take with other cough and cold medicines.
If symptoms persist consult your doctor.

Do not take if you:

• are allergic to any of the listed ingredients below.
• have liver disease, shallow breath or breathing difficulties, a asthma attack, or taken MAOIs (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) for depression within the last two weeks.
• have ever developed a severe skin rash or skin that peels, blisters and/or sores in the mouth after taking this medicine or other pholcodine-containing medicines.
• are pregnant, might be pregnant or are
  breastfeeding.

Consult your doctor/pharmacist before use if you:

• have kidney or liver problems.
• have a history of asthma or other breathing problems including bronchitis.
• have a history of drug abuse; pholcodine is an opioid and can be addictive.
• have serious skin reactions, including acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP).
• are taking any other medications (including over-the-counter 'OTC' medicines).

Cautions:

• May cause drowsiness. If you are affected do not drive or operate machinery.
• Contains 48mg of alcohol (ethanol) per 5ml dose and sodium parahydroxybenzoates & amaranth dye which may cause allergic reactions.
• If any adverse side effects occur discontinue use and consult a doctor immediately.
• Do not give to children under 12 years of age.
• Do not take more than the stated dose.
• Store below 25°C and keep out of reach & sight of children.

Other ingredients: citric acid monohydrate (E330), sodium methyl, ethyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoates, (E215, E219, E217), glycerol (E422), ethanol, amaranth dye, (E123), saccharin sodium, carmellose sodium, levomenthol, condensed milk flavour, aniseed flavour and purified water.
