Diflucan contains the active ingredient fluconazole, an antifungal used to treat fungus and yeast infections particularly those caused by Candida, such as thrush.

Treating thrush in women
Taken by mouth, Dilucan One treats the fungal infection, vaginal thrush, which is caused by a tiny yeast called Candida. Most women have vaginal thrush some time during their lives. Many women have this yeast living harmlessly within their bodies. However, the natural balance that keeps Candida under control can be upset by other factors, e.g. antibiotics, diabetes, poor general health, the Pill, or damage to vaginal tissues. Then the levels of yeast become too high and thrush develops
You may have one or more of these common symptoms: Itching around the outside of the vagina, soreness - if the delicate tissues are inflamed, a white, curdy, odourless discharge from the vagina

Treating thrush in men
Taken by mouth, Diflucan One treats the fungal infection, penile thrush (candidal balanitis), which is caused by a tiny yeast called Candida. Thrush can be passed on from your partner through sexual intercourse. This can result in inflammation at the end of the penis. The most common symptoms are: soreness, redness, and irritation. Diflucan One will only treat inflammation of the end of the penis if it is caused by a yeast infection.
