What forms does Preparation H come in?
Preparation H is available as a
cream, an
ointment and we also sell
soothing wipes.
What is the difference between Preparation H cream and Preparation H ointment?
Preparation H cream and the ointment contain the same active ingredients. The difference is that the Preparation H ointment is thicker and hence is also good for relieving the symptoms of sore, dry skin. The Preparation H cream is thinner and hence some people find it easier to rub in. The Preparation H cream is also less likely to stain underpants or knickers than the ointment. In addition, the Preparation H ointment is best when applied on a gauze dressing, whereas the cream rubs in and so is best without a dressing.
Does Preparation H have any other uses?
Preparation H ointment and cream are also very effective at helping to heal tattoos, although you should not use either of these Preparation H products for facial tattoos. Simply apply liberally three or four times a day to the tattoo and remember to gently wash the tattoo with soap and warm water daily, as advised by your tattooist.
