Frequently Asked Questions about Germoloids:
(contined from above)What is the difference between Germoloids and other treatments for piles? All Germoloids products (except the wipes) contain Lidocaine, a powerful pharmacy-strength anaesthetic that has many uses in treating external pain. Lidocaine is not found in any other commonly-available piles cream. The lidocaine, combined with the anti-swelling ingredients (zinc oxide in the case of the cream/ointment/suppositories and hydrocortisone in the case of the HC spray) mean that as well as treating the swelling, you are numbing the pain so can get on with your everyday life. How do I decide which Germoloids product to buy?The standard treatment is the Germoloids ointment, which provides protection for the skin.
Germoloids cream feels more like a moisturiser and so it depends on how you feel (they both contain the same formulation).
Germoloids HC spray is very powerful and has the added advantage that you do not need to touch the affected area with your hands - but should not be used for more than about a week and should not be used by pregnant or breastfeeding mothers.
Germoloids suppositories deliver a constant, measured dose for a longer period of time, and can be used in conjunction with the ointment/cream to treat both the internal and the external symptoms.
Germoloids wipes are always suitable for use in conjunction with any of the other treatments, as they improve the hygiene of the affected area, particularly after a bowel movement.
It is common to try a combination of the Germoloids ointment or Germoloids cream or Germoloids HC spray, together with the Germoloids wipes and possibly the Germoloids suppositories.
