Femstrual is for the reduction of heavy menstrual bleeding over several cycles for women with regular cycles. What is Femstrual? Femstrual tablets are for females aged 18 to 45 who suffer with heavy menstrual bleeding (Menorrhagia). Sufferers of regular, heavy periods that prevent them from going about their everyday activities.
When a female has a period, her body produces clots or plugs during menstruation to stem the bleeding and as part of healing, but these sometimes dissolve and do not stay in place long enough leading to heavier periods. Tranexamic acid is an anti-fibrinolytic drug which stops the clots breaking down and by doing so, reduces the amount of blood lost. Femstrual contains 500mg of Tranexamic Acid.

Each tablet contains 500mg tranexamic acid.

Heavy Periods: Your periods are heavy if you bleed through your clothes onto your bedding at night, known as flooding. You need to change your sanitary protection every two hours or more often and you need to use double sanitary protection (tampon and towels). If you pass large blood clots and your periods prevent you from doing normal activities such as going out and working. Do not use if you do not have heavy periods.
Regular Periods: Your period is regular if your menstrual cycle (the number of days between the 1st day of one period and the 1st day of the next) is between 21 and 35 days long and your menstrual cycle is about the same number of days long each time (i.e. it does not change by more than 3 days each time).
