Compeed Hydrocure System The Compeed Hydrocure System are a range of dressings and plasters which rely on hydrocolloid-based healing. Used in hospitals for over twenty years, this type of dressing provides an optimal healing environment for wounds. Compeed Hydrocure plasters and dressings seal the wound keeping dirt, germs and water out while letting healthy skin cells move in to repair the injury naturally. The plasters have an absorbent layer made from a hypoallergenic polymer with special moisture absorbing particles. Contrary to popular belief, leaving a wound uncovered to dry and form a scab actually slows down the healing process. Exposure to the air can also cause dryness, itching and cracking and make a wound more vulnerable to germs and infection. The plasters have tapered edges which make wearing the plaster more comfortable and less prone to catching and sticking to socks and clothes. They are waterproof and can be worn for up to 3 days without changing.
