What does the Canesten range treat?Canesten treatments contain the active ingredient Clotrimazole, an antifungal that is used to treat fungal and yeast infections. Clotrimazole is most commonly used to treat candida infections of the vagina (vulvitis), and candida infections of the skin such as fungal sweat rash and nappy rash.

Remember: thrush can be passed from partner to partner and back again. If you are treating yourself for thrush, it is advisable to treat your partner at the same time to avoid re-infection. What ingredients are in Canesten?The majority of Canesten products are based the following ingredients:
Clotrimazole - an antifungal that is applied to the skin (for example, for athlete's foot or candidal sweat rash) or external membranes such as the vagina or glans of the penis. This is found in the Canesten Thrush Cream (and hence in Canesten Duo), Canesten Pessary, Canesten Cream, Canesten AF and Canesten HC products.
Fluconazole - an antifungal that comes in tablet form, is swallowed and works inside the body to stop fungal infections from within the body. This is found in the Canesten Oral Capsule.
In addition, Canesten HC contains Hydrocortisone, a powerful anti-inflammatory agent that should be used sparingly and only for short periods of time.
Canesten Oasis contains a mixture of acidic ingredients that provide effective relief of cystitis in many women.
The Canesten Care products are cleansing products that do not contain soap or fragrance and hence are kind to sensitive areas.What is the difference between "Canesten Thrush Cream" and "Canesten Cream"?Canesten Thrush Cream (2% clotrimazole) is twice as strong as Canesten Cream (1% clotrimazole).
