Fluconazole is used for the treatment of fungal and yeast infections.

Fluconazole is a type of medicine referred to as a triazole antifungal. It is used in the treatment of various types of fungal and yeast infections, in particular those caused by Candida or Cryptococcus strains of fungi, such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, pityriasis versicolor, oral thrush and Candida skin infections.

Fluconazole is most commonly used in the treatment of vaginal thrush, where it is usually administered as a single oral dose.
