Sterimar is a range of nasal sprays for the treatment of nasal congestion and blockages, and for nasal cleansing. They are based around a dilute seawater solution, which ensures that the spray is as comfortable as possible.

How does Sterimar work?
By gently squirting the micro-fine mist of Sterimar Isotonic Nasal Spray up the nose, it cleanses the nasal passage, removing dirt and loosens excess mucus. The Original Sterimar Isotonic Spray contains salt levels that match those of salt levels within our body. It is completely natural and harmless and can be used by all.
Sterimar Hypertonic Microdiffusion Spray, is absorbed into your nose by an effect called Osmosis. Osmosis occurs when the concentration of water is different on either side of a cellular membrane and passes through to the other side. Unlike the salt content in the Isotonic Sterimar (which matches the level of salt content to salt found in the body), the Hypertonic Sterimar solution contains a higher percentage of salt. When our nasal passages are swollen with mucus the cells in our noses become attracted to the higher concentration of salt from the Sterimar Hypertonic. The liquid in our mucous tissues withdraw into the solution, thus relieving the swelling in the nasal passage and results in being able to breathe more clearly.
Depending on the severity of your congestion, it is perfectly safe to use both of the nasal sprays together. Firstly spray the Isotonic formula to cleanse and remove bacteria, followed by the Hypertonic formula to reduce inflammation.
