About Sterimar Hypertonic Seawater Microdiffusion...
This nasal solution works by drawing out moisture from the membrane inside the nasal passage. Many think that congestion is caused by a blocked/runny nose. However it is in fact due inflammation by a particular irritant which causes swelling of the nasal tissues, making the nostrils smaller. This makes breathing through the nose very tricky. When we have cold & flu symptoms, a runny nose usually accompanies the congestion making it impossible to breathe.
How does the Hypertonic work?
The salt content in Sterimar Hypertonic is higher than that naturally found in a human cell, and therefore is able to extract liquids from the mucous membrane by the process of osmosis*. Additionally, Sterimar Hypertonic contains copper and manganese. These elements reinforce the solution with specific properties which help fight against infectious irritants and helps the salt solution to get to work. This entire process is gentle, fast acting and harmless. Your stuffy nose should ease off and breathing will become clearer.
Directions:
The nozzle is tapered to fit any nose size.
First, insert the nozzle into a nostril and spray for a few seconds. Allow excess solution to drain before blowing the nose. Repeat on the second nostril. Clean the nozzle with soap and water and dry so it is ready for its next use.
Can be used up to 6 times a day.
Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
*Osmosis is the natural movement of water through a semi-permeable membrane. Water will naturally cross from a lesser concentration of water to a greater concentration.
