FAQ's

1. How does Nytol work?

Nytol and Nytol One-A-Night contain diphenhydramine hydrochloride, which is an antihistamine. This has a sedative effect and is highly effective at inducing drowsiness.

2. What is the difference between Nytol and Nytol One-A-Night?

Both Nytoland Nytol One-A-Night have exactly the same active ingredient; however, Nytol One-A-Night Caplet is twice as strong which means that you only need one tablet instead of 2. This is the only difference! Of course, Nytol One-A-Night is therefore too strong to give to children, so it is for adults only.

3. How do herbal sleeping tablets work?

Some plants such as valerian, hops, wild lettuce and passiflora are well known for their sedative properties.

4. Why do the herbal formulations exist, if the conventional formula works fine?

Which method is best for you depends on your body, and the reasons behind your insomnia. Whereas the conventional formula simply induces drowsiness, the herbal formulae act to tackle the underlying stress and anxiety that can lead to sleeplessness. The conventional Nytol formula should only be used in the short term, whereas the Nytol Herbal formula is more suitable for use in the long term.

5. Why are there different herbal formulations?

Because the herbal formulations tackle factors such as stress and anxiety, different herbal formulations may work better for some people than others. Some people may find one herbal preparation will work better than the other.

6. Why can't I buy more than one box of Nytol at a time?

Nytol is only licensed to treat temporary sleeplessness. You will need to see your doctor if you suffer from long-term insomnia; pharmacies are not allowed to supply Nytol for long-term, everyday use unless it is on prescription. Tolerance can develop if Nytol is used continuously. Nytol Herbal Tablets, however, is suitable for long-term use.
