Evening Primrose Oil is one of the few natural sources of polyunsaturated fat called Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA). GLA is the precursor of a particularly important prostaglandin called PGE1, which takes part in regulating the nervous, cardiovascular and reproductive system, skin condition and other biological functions.

The body not only uses polyunsaturates for the growth of cell membranes but it also converts them into Prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are physiologically-active hormone-like substances which control and regulate many body processes. Before the body can make use of Linoleic Acid for Prostaglandin formation, it has to convert it to GLA, and sometimes this conversion is slow or partially blocked. Hence, a dietary source of GLA can be very useful to the body in by-passing the conversion process. Prostaglandins however are not the only nutritional benefit to be derived from Evening Primrose Oil, its Fatty Acids provide for cell membrane growth as well.
Lamberts Evening Primrose Oil is high quality oil specially selected for its purity and consistent GLA level, and each capsule also provides the RDA of Vitamin E. These capsules are smaller size than our other GLA supplements and may therefore be preferred by some people.
This product is also available in 1000mg capsules.
Dosage: 1 to 4 capsules daily.

Caution: Evening Primrose Oil should only be given to Epileptics (temporal lobe) under medical supervision.
