Chromium

Chromium is vital in regulating blood sugar levels, however, humans only need it in tace amounts. Chromium along with Vitamin B3 and the three amino acids: Glycine, Glutamic Acid and Cysteine, act as a part of the glucose tolerance factor (GTF) that balances the action of insulin.

Chromimum is known to be particularly beneficial for those with Syndrome X; the name given to a group of symptoms which indicate that ones body has become 'resistant' to the hormone, insulin.

This mineral is also thought to help the body process carbohydrates and fats and is therefore favoured as a weight loss aid for dieters and those who suffer from pre-menstural and non-cyclical food cravings and any other blood sugar imbalances.

Signs of chromium deficiency include; poor concentration, faintness, hunger pangs and cravings.
