Agnus Castus, also known as vitex or chaste tree, this tincture is useful for premenstrual syndrome and associated conditions.- Balances female sex hormones that cause Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS/PTM), menstrual disorders, painful periods and heavy bleeding.

Premenstrual Syndrome (aka. Premenstrual Tension) is caused by an imbalance of female sex hormones oestrogen and progesterone. It is believed that high levels of prolactin or a sensitivity to it, also may have an effect on PMS. Agnus Castus exerts a balancing effect on female sex hormones, increasing progesterone levels and reducing prolactin. Other hormonal links to menstruation are painful periods, heavy bleeding and tender breasts. Agnus Castus acts on the pituitary gland, triggering a reaction that leads to the production of progesterone. This reduces these menstrual problems.
Altering the levels of prolactin in the body, often lends a hand to conception. This makes Agnus Castus a popular supplement for infertility. Also, this altered hormonal activity in the body can benefit some who suffer from fibroids or endometriosis. Lastly, Agnus Castus has been found to be beneficial in the treatment of hormonal acne in both men and women.
Directions for use:
Adults: 15-20 drops in a little water twice daily.
Children: This product is not recommended for children under 14 years of age.

If you would prefer less alcoholic content, then add your tincture dose to boiling water. Leave to stand for a few minutes to allow the alcohol to evaporate.
