Temperature readings can vary from person to person and although there is not a 'normal' temperature reading, a temperature taken orally tends to range between 36.1°C and 37.7°C. A rectal temperature is generally 0.5°C higher and an underarm (axillary) temperature will be 0.5°C lower. the best method to determine your own normal temperature is to use the thermometer when you are feeling well, do this at two different times of the day and take the average.
BATTERY LIFE: More than 300 measurements or approx 2 years if used every other day.
TEMP. ACCURACY: +/- 0.1° between 35.5°C - 41.6°C at room temperature of 21.6°C.
TEMP. RANGE: 32.0°C - 42.8°C. If less than 32.0°C, 'L' is displayed and if higher than 42.8°C, 'H' is displayed.
Directions for use: Before using the thermometer it is recommended that for 15 minutes prior to use you should avoid eating, drinking, exercising, taking showers/baths or smoking. Turn on the thermometer by pressing the on/off blue button, wait for the thermometer to get ready, a beep signal will sound and the display will show a 'test' for about 2 seconds and then can be used to measure temperature. When the thermometer starts to measure, the display shows 'L' if lower than 32°C. Depending on where the measurement is being taken, follow instructions inside pamphlet. When the peak temperature is reached (approx 30 secs), the thermometer will beep 8 times and the °C will stop flashing. The temperature will not change and so the thermometer can be removed and read.
Important:
High, prolonged fever requires medical attention, especially for young children.

Do not allow children to walk or run during temperature taking.
The thermometer is initially calibrated at the time of manufacture, if this thermometer is used according to the instructions, the accuracy of measurements will not be affected.
The thermometer is only suitable for the measurement of body temperature. The use of this thermometer is not intended as a substitute for consultation with your doctor.
