Piz Buin sun care is an innovative range invented and designed by a Swiss chemistry student, Franz Greiter, and his beautician wife Margo. Franz suffered sunburn whilst climbing the Piz Buin mountains. Following his experience he invented the first sun cream in 1946 which led to the development of a glamorous brand that has gone from strength to strength with its beautifully textured, delightfully fragranced creams.
The Piz Buin range have developed two unique technologies:
Calmanelle: A dermatologically developed 'shield complex' that helps to strengthen the skin cells defence mechanism against the sun. Sufferers of sun sensitivity will benefit highly from using the products that contain the Calmanelle technology.
It blends two main ingredients; Feverfew PFE, a potent anti-oxidant that aids in stimulating the repair capacity of cells* in the skin. Also a calming soothing agent developed to alleviate sensitive and itchy skin.

Helioplex technology: An innovative technology breakthrough by Johnson and Johnson. It provides protection against UVA and UVB rays in a formula that is resistant to change under sunlight. It provides an even and consistent protection against the rays that can cause premature aging and damage to the collagen and elastin in the skin.

Piz Buin Tan Intensifier:
is the first range of sun protection that provides both UVA and UVB skin protection using the unique Piz Buin Helioplex technology. The Tan Intensifier range also contains Melitan; a peptide in our skin that naturally encourages production of melanin, the pigment that gives us a suntan. The Piz Buin Tan Intensifier range helps to enhance* the natural tanning process whilst protecting your skin against sunburn.
