Worms are passed from person to person very easily. To reduce the risk of reinfection or spreading the infestation, it is a good idea to follow simple hygiene rules. These include: thorough hand washing before eating and after using the toilet, keep fingernails short, bathe each morning to ensure any eggs laid in the night are removed, change bedding frequently and use your own towel only.
It may also be useful to carry antibacterial gel or wipes with you when travelling or to have about the house.
