Gastrocote Liquid contains a dual action formula that eases the discomfort of indigestion and heartburn by relieving the symptoms and reducing the level of acid in the stomach, neutralising it and protecting the lining from it.
500ml suspension.

Gastrocote has a dual action formula that contains a combination of antacids and an alginate to soothe and relieve both heartburn and indigestion. Both have different yet effective effects on the GI tract, the gastrointestinal tract. The alginate forms a raft that reduces the reflux of stomach acid into the oesophagus. The raft also coats the lining of the oesophagus, protecting it from the stomach acid. Antacids neutralise the stomach acids.
An effective solution to these problematic conditions; Gastrocote treats a range of symptoms associated with excess stomach acid including:
- Heartburn - A burning sensation in the chest or throat area when stomach acid escapes.
- Heartburn in pregnancy - Common in pregnant women.
- Reflux oesophagitis - Inflammation of the oesophagus lining due to irritation from stomach acid.
- Gastric reflux or regurgitation - A bitter or sour taste in the mouth.
- Acid indigestion - Any pain of discomfort in the stomach area, accompanied by bloating, belching or nausea due to excess stomach acid.
Please note: While pains in the chest are usually due to heartburn and indigestion, they could also be a symptom of something more serious, such as heart problems. If in doubt, please seek medical advice and contact your local pharmacist/GP.
Directions for use: Adults and the elderly are to take one to three 5ml spoonfuls four times a day. Children 6-12 years old are to take one to two 5ml spoonfuls four times a day. Shake before use and take after main meals and at bedtime.

Ingredients: Each 5ml contains: Actives: Sodium Alginate 220mg, Dried Aluminium Hydroxide gel 80mg, Magnesium Trisilicate 40mg, Sodium Bicarbonate 70mg. Inactives: Aluminium Magnesium Silicate, Sunset Yellow (E110), Butterscotch flavour, Peppermint Liquid, Sacccharin Sodium, Sodium Methylhydroxybenzoate (E129), Sodium Propylhydroxybenzoate (E127) and purified water.
