Max Factor takes its name from its founder, Max Factor, who was born in Lodz, Poland in 1877. He was a make-up artist for the Russian ballet before he emigrated to the United States in 1904. The company name now synonymous with the world of acting was 'the' brand for the film stars during the 1930's and 1940's, in fact so famous was Max factor that he even made cameos in many films and celebrities were more than happy to endorse his products.
