Vitamin A
Vitamin A is the general name given to a group of substances that include retinol, retinal and carotenoids, these are found only in animal produce. Another substance, Beta Carotene, is classed as a provitamin or precursor to Vitamin A and is found only in vegetables and fruits.
Vitamin A is essential for the development of healthy bones, eyesight and skin. It can alse help strengthen the immune system and help with conditions such as eczema, acne and psoriasis.
Signs of Vitamin A deficiency include nightblindness and dry skin.
