Ringworm of the scalp (tinea capitis) is a highly contagious condition especially in children. Symptoms include; itching of the scalp, a red scaly rash on the scalp, hair loss. Lesions may appear on the scalp that may develop in to rash or even a kerion (an inflamed pussy mass).
