Maintaining Healthy Muscles
First and foremost, you should exercise daily and use different sets of muscles when you exercise. You should also stretch your muscles daily, and warm up before exercising, as this will minimise the risk of muscle cramps and strains and sprains. Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet including lots of fruit and vegetables of course goes without saying and drinking plenty of water throughout the day, and particularly when exercising, will keep your muscles working properly and help to avoid muscle spasms.

With real freeze dried strawberries!Protein is the building block of muscles and it is essential for growth and repair. Exercising, and particularly when you have been doing resistance training such as weights etc, you cause microscopic damage to your muscles; a process called catabolism. This is a perfectly normal biological process and is a stimulus for muscle repair and growth. This 'damage' causes the body to respond by sending nutrients, including protein, to these muscles to help them grow.
