Frio wallets have been designed to keep insulin within acceptable temperature limits, without refrigeration, for several days before they need to be reactivated. A Frio kit will come with a Cambrelle outer cover and the Frio inner pouch, made from poly-cotton. This pouch contains non-toxic/non-flammable crystals. To activate the crystals, the pouch must be immersed in water for a maximum of 12 minutes. Once the crystals have gelled, the insulin can be stored inside it straight away. The wallet may be carried in hand luggage or in a pocket. Insulin can be kept cool for up to 45 hours and is light weight, compact and completely re-usable.
