They are made to the highest quality and are all completely safe to heat in the microwave.What are Cozy Plush toys for?Thousands of people enjoy these soft microwavable toys and accessories in the UK and many other parts of the world! The classic Intelex Beddy Bears were originally developed for those suffering reoccurring muscular aches and pains, who benefited from the heat therapy. They were such a huge success that Intelex have listened to customer's feed back and now have a much wider range of products. They also have a therapeutic value, offering warmth and a relaxing fragrance. Typically, Cozy Plush toys act as an adapted version of the hot water bottle; ideal in the winter to warm up fingers n' toes or as a cuddly bedtime companion without the risk of using hot water.Getting started with Cozy Plush toys:Once your Cozy Plush or Cozy Accessory has been removed from its packaging, but before it has been placed in the microwave, make a few checks.
To start, remove any plastic or cardboard tags attached to the fabric. Read through the Intelex instructions on the labels about heating guidelines and after care. Lastly, if you want to keep your Beddy Buddy, Cozy Plush or Cozy Accessory clean as it turns in the microwave, place it in a deep Pyrex-type dish - this is a handy tip!How long can I heat my Cozy Plush for?Depending on your microwave Wattage you can heat your Cozy Plush or accessory for up to 2-2½ minutes. However you MUST read the label and follow correctly. Do not over heat.What if I don't have a microwave?Don't worry, if you do not have a microwave, your Beddy Bears or Cozy Plush toys and accessories can be placed in the airing cupboard on the hot water tank or on a radiator for a few hours. Admittedly, this method takes more time than using a microwave, but will work just as well. What ever you do, do not heat your teddy or accessory in the oven or under the grill.\
My Cozy Plush feels damp after heating, why?The Cozy Plush range is filled with wheat grains and, with the the first few uses, you will indeed notice the fur or fabric feeling slightly damp after microwaving. This is due to moisture in the grains creating condensation in the microwave which forms a ultra thin film of water on the outside of the bear (or other Intelex item). Sweating like this is completely normal and to be expected. It will gradually stop after the first number of uses.How do I clean my Cozy Plush toy?It is recommended that if you need to treat stains or dirty marks on your soft toy or accessory, take a warm damp cloth and a tiny drop of soap and gently wipe the fur/fabric clean. It is not a good idea to put your Intelex item in a washing machine or submerge in water, due to the nature of its contents.Why has my Cozy Plush has lost its pleasant smell?After time, the treated wheat grains will eventually loose their scent. If you want to "top up" the smell of lavender or even add your own aromatherapy scent, then all you need to do is drop the essential oil(s) directly onto the fabric. Easy!How safe are these toys for children?Cozy Plush, Beddy Bears, Beddy Buddies, Henry Warmheart, Forever Friends products, Cozy Cubs and Cozy Body Accessories are all manufactured in accordance with EN71-1/2/3/9 and BS 8433 safety standards. The maximum temperature limit for such a product is 90°C and Intelex products have never reached that temperature. Young children can use the products as long as they are supervised by an adult. It is also completely safe to warm up baby's bed with a microwavable item but Never leave baby in their cot or bed with a microwavable item unattended.How long does the heat last?This is all dependent on the length of time you heat your item and what you do with it. If you are warming your bed, the heat stays contained under the covers and may last several hours. If you are using the product to soothe an ache or pain and the item is placed externally onto the body, the heat will naturally escape quicker and you may only get approximately 40 minutes warmth.Why can't Express Chemist ship Cozy Plush toys to Australia?Unfortunately, due to the Australian Custom Restrictions, it is not possible for a business outside of the country to send over any plant based materials. We would love to send Cozy Plush toys and their friends over to Australia but they all contain wheat. However, all hope is not lost. A similar item from Express Chemist is the Fleecy Hot Bottle which are also fully microwavable and do not contain wheat or gel.
