Green Lipped Mussel Extract contains a rich blend of natural proteins, minerals and Omega 3 fatty acids. These naturally occurring products are important in maintaining joint mobility, good health and well being and have anti-inflammatory, gastro protective and free radical scavenging properties.

Green Lipped Mussels are rich in vitamins, minerals, protein and amino acids.
Lamberts Green Lipped Mussel Extract; contains the pure extract of an edible green lipped mussel, Perna canalicus, found only in the clear unpolluted water surrounding New Zealand. Much research has been conducted internationally to test the efficacy of green lipped mussel extract (GLME) food supplement. The most important early study was conducted in Glasgow under the supervision of Dr Robin Gibson: and the positive results were published. Subsequently, a doubleblind, placebo-controlled study that lasted six months was carried out in France involving more than 200 respondents. Daily intake during this study was 1,380mg of green lipped mussel extract, and positive results were published by Dr Herni Billard.
Concurrent studies have also been conducted in New Zealand to isolate and characterise the active principle in Green Lipped Mussel Extract; GLME. These suggest that the activity resides in a protein fraction and that its properties are unique and not demonstrated by other types of shellfish. Further research investigating the properties of GLME; has been published in Japan.
Dosage: Up to 3 tablets daily. As a general rule, benefit is experienced 4-8 weeks after commencement. However, there have been reports of benefit occurring within 1 week of commencing the product and some with results only becoming noticeable after 6 months. For those that experience increase in the pain and tenderness in the first few days after commencement, this condition is likely to be temporary and precede good results.
