It is well established that many people's diets provide insufficient supplies of calcium, and that low calcium intake can contribute to the rate at which bone mass declines with age. Calcium is an important element in the diet, being a structural component of the bones, teeth and soft tissues. It is an essential part of many of the body's metabolic processes, including proper blood clotting. It comprises approximately 1 to 2% of adult body weight, 99% of which is stored in the bones and teeth.
  • An off white coated oval tablet.
  • 60 tablets.
  • 3 tablets provide 800mg, the Recommended Daily Allowance of Calcium.
  • Aids good bone health.
  • Maintains healthy tissue, teeth and bones.
  • Helps prevent and treat calcium deficiencies.
  • High absorbency.
  • Maximum strength.
The DoH recommends that women should have an intake of up to 1200mg of calcium per day, a level that is hard to achieve through diet alone, especially if the diet contains little diary produce. And this problem is not just confined to adults as official figures show that 71% of UK female teenagers aged between 16 to 18 years old fail to consume adequate calcium from the diet, with overall 48% of all women in the UK having a calcium intake below the RNI. Calcium supplements provide a convenient way to increase the intake of calcium, and have been shown to help slow the inevitable loss of bone mass that occurs as we get older.

CalAsorb supplies calcium in the citrate form which is believed to be one of the most easily absorbed compounds of calcium, due in part to its high solubility compared to other calcium compounds. Three tablets provides a full 800mg of calcium which is the recommended daily allowance.

In situations where calcium absorption is of critical importance, it may be helpful to consider the use of Lamberts Osteoguard Synergy. This is a soluble fibre prebiotic, (not a calcium supplement), that studies indicate may modify the bowel flora in a positive way that improves calcium absorption.

Lamberts CalAsorb is also available in a 180 capsule pot and is ideally suited to be taken alongside Lamberts MagAsorb to provide a high-strength supplementation programme of calcium and magnesium.
