Almost all the active ingredients in a herb are locked up inside the plant cells and protected by the tough cell walls. Herbalists often boil or infuse herbs to break down the cell walls, which releases these active ingredients. Lamberts extracts are prepared in a similar way except they then dry the extracted active ingredients to make into tablets or capsules. This process of extraction and drying greatly increases the concentration of the active ingredients.
Few supplement companies go to these lengths accross their entire range of herbs but Lamberts believe is is essential to use extracts. This is because the alternative 'whole herb' sounds good but is simply dried plant matter and will contain mostly fibre with little active ingredient. Lamberts herbs are concentrated and soluble.

Lamberts is one of the few companies that is pursuing its own registrations as they are determined to provide products that not only meet the quality standards expected of THR's, but are also the right potency and free from unwanted tabletting ingredients. The registration process is well underway and over the next 18 months Lamberts will launch a number of practitioner strength products.
