How does Daktarin Gold Work?Daktarin Gold cream contains the active ingredient Ketoconazole. Daktarin Gold can treat skin infections that appear on the feet (Athlete's Foot) but can also be used on the groin (jock itch) and between the skin folds (eg. under the breasts or under the arm pit). The Daktarin Gold cream destroys the yeast or fungus on the skin and quickly reduces the associated itching. After you have treated your Athlete's Foot, Daktarin Gold continues to protect from re-infection even after you have stopped using it. How can I tell I have a fungal infection?Fungal infections like to grow on warm, moist crevices of skin. Athlete's Foot can be identified by red itchy skin in between the toes. The area can become flaky and cracked and smell unpleasantly cheesy. Dhobie Itch develops in the groin. The skin here becomes very itchy and inflamed causing redness and soreness. Intertrigo or sweat rash that has become infected with yeast infection, tends to develop in areas that regularly become moist with perspiration. Again, the skin becomes red and sore and very uncomfortable.Directions:Firstly wash the infected area and dry well. Daktarin will need the seal piercing by using the inside of the lid.
Treating mild athlete's foot: Rub Daktarin Gold cream twice daily in between the toes for 1 week. More severe or extensive athlete's foot (eg also the sole or sides are affected): continue using Daktarin Gold 2-3 days after symptoms have cleared to prevent re-infection.
Dhobie itch and candidal intertrigo: once or twice daily for at least 2-3 days after symptoms have cleared. Treatment may continue for up to 6 weeks. Consult a doctor if symptoms do not clear up by 6 weeks.Important! Do not use Daktarin Gold Cream if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients listed.Talk to your doctor first if you have recently used a strong corticosteriod as the two medicines should not be used at the same time. If you are pregnant, seek advice from your GP before using this medicine. If you are breast feeding you can use Daktarin Gold cream.Do not allow Daktarin Gold Cream to get into the eyes.Propylene glycol may cause skin irritation.Daktarin Gold is for topical use on the skin only and is not for use on the genitals.Ingredients:
