Imodium Plus is a fast and effective treatment for diarrhoea combined with a treatment for excessive wind or stomach gas.
It contains the same active ingredient as Original Imodium, together with an anti-bloating formula that helps prevent stomach discomfort, bloating or flatulence.
- Imodium Plus comes in the form of a "caplet", which is a small, easy to swallow, capsule-shaped tablet. Each Imodium Plus caplet contains Loperamide hydrochloride 2mg and Simethicone 125mg
- Diarrhoea and other symptoms of diarrhoea such as stomach cramps and bloating
- Adults: chew 2 tablets initially, followed by 1 tablet after each loose bowel movement. Not more than 4 tablets should be taken in a day for a maximum of 2 days
- Children: not recommended
About the active ingredients in Imodium PlusLoperamide is the active ingredient in Original Imodium, and works by calming the bowel and preventing it from passing stools so often.
Simeticone, also known as dimeticone, simethicone or dimethicone, is a safe anti-bubbling agent which works by reducing the number of gas bubbles within the stomach. It's the same ingredient that is found in many infant colic treatments.
Do not take Imodium Plus if you are under 12 or are pregnant or breast-feeding.
