This clear coated yellow oval tablet provides vitamin C in the form of calcium ascorbate, a non acidic compound that is believed to be gentler on the stomach than ascorbic acid, which when in solution is quite acidic. This is only a problem in people who have sensitive stomachs, but anyone who is taking large amounts of vitamin C may experience digestive disturbance, in which case Lamberts Gentle Vitamin C 500mg Non-Acidic would be the ideal supplement.
Up to 3g of the Lamberts Gentle Vitamin C 500mg Non-Acidic can be taken, a total of 6 tablets, per day. If this quantity is being consumed it is best that the tablets are taken spread throughout the day.
Each tablet also provides over 100mg of calcium which can make a valuable contribution to an individuals calcium intake, particularly if they are taking several tablets per day
Vitamin C:
Is involved in cell and the repair of tissues.
It is involved in the conversion of proline (an amino acid) to hydroxyproline (a non-essential amino acid necessary for the construction collagen).
Essential in collagen maintenance in skin, bones and teeth.
Is required for the activity of leucocytes, immunoglobulins and natural antibodies.
Protects vitamins A and E against damage.
Helps to maintain normal blood cholesterol levels.
Is involved in the formation of corticosteroid hormones in the adrenal gland.
Vitamin C was first discovered in 1932 and was the subject of the first controlled nutritional experiment in recorded history. It is known to be involved in at least 300 biochemical pathways in the body. It is a water soluble vitamin and as man is unable to manufacture this vitamin within the body, a daily intake is necessary.
Dosage: 1 to 6 tablets daily.

Caution: Over 100mg of Vitamin C may cause mild stomach upset in sensitive individuals.
