About Polytar AF- Polytar AF is a Medicated shampoo containing: Tar blend 1% w/w, Zinc pyrithone 1% w/w
- Treatment of scaling scalp disorders including seborrhoeic dermatitis, psoriasis and dandruff
- Also of value in the removal of ointments and pastes used in the treatment of psoriasis
- Adults and children: massage into the hair, scalp and surrounding skin. Leave for 2-3 minutes and rinse
- Use 2 or 3 times a week
Who should use Polytar AF?Use Polytar AF shampoo for the treatment of scalp dermatitis, psoriasis and dandruff, where you also wish to stop the growth of bacteria and fungi.DirectionsShake the Polytar AF bottle before use. Wet the hair and massage the shampoo into the hair, scalp and surrounding skin. Leave for 2-3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.Polytar AF should be used two or three times weekly for at least 3 weeks or until the condition clears. Polytar AF Technical InformationThe active ingredients of Polytar AF are as follows:- Tar blend - Tar breaks down excess keratin in the skin, which are a cause of psoriasis, dandruff and related skin disorders. The tar blend comprises: Pine tar, Cade oil, Coal Tar Solution, and Arachis Oil which is an extract of Coal Tar.
- Zinc Pyrithione - Zinc Pyrithione has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It is fungicidal against the pathogenic yeasts of the pityrosporum genus which are a cause of dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis.
Other ingredients are: Coconut diethanolamide, Triethanolamine Lauryl Sulphate, Carbomer
Sodium Hydroxide, Hypromellose, Octoxinol, Glycerol, Imidurea, and Purified Water.For further information see the Polytar AF Data Sheet. WarningsAvoid contact with the eyes. Tar products may cause skin irritation, rashes and, rarely, photosensitivity. Zinc pyrithione may cause dermatitis: should this occur, consult your doctor before continuing to use Polytar AF.
