Once head lice are dead they do wash out of hair very easily. However, most treatments leave dead eggs or empty egg shells, commonly known as nits, attached to hair. These eggs will not hatch or cause any harm but that does not stop most of us wanting to get rid of them, anyway! The easiest way to do this is with the Full Marks Removal Comb, which catches the eggs between its very fine teeth.1 fine metal toothed comb. Approximately 6cm by 8cm. Can be used conjunction with Full Marks Solution The Full Marks Removal Comb with fine metal teeth is specially designed for the removal of head lice and their eggs. Once head lice have been identified, the Full Marks Removal Comb can be used for the removal of lice and their eggs that are firmly attached tot the hair as part of a wet combing regime. Wet Combing Instructions:Wash the hair with a normal shampoo. Apply enough conditioner to cover the hair with an ordinary comb to remove any tangles. If the hair is long, separate into sections to make combing easier. Start with the teeth of the Removal Comb touching the scalp, and draw the comb carefully towards the edge of the hair. After each stroke, check the teeth of the comb (in good light) for lice and, if necessary, use a piece of tissue to wipe the conditioner from the comb to look for lice. Continue to comb each section thoroughly until the whole head is done. This can take anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour.The recommended regimen for wet combing is to repeat the regime every 3 days, continued for three weeks if necessary until no full grown lice have been seen for 3 consecutive sessions. Head lice treatments will not prevent an individual from catching head lice again. Therefore, if a friend or family member has lice without knowing, it is likely they will be passed around again and again. That is why contact tracing is very important. The full Marks Removal Comb can be used in conjunction with Full Marks Solution to remove dead lice and any eggs.
